The Homestead in Layers is a limited first-edition fine art print inspired by my garden at MyBackyardHomestead — a real place nurtured over seasons. This piece was crafted from an original photograph, layered with hundreds of color studies, botanical textures, and painterly effects to reflect the land as I experience it — layered, evolving, and alive.

Each print is reproduced locally in Colorado using an archival pigment giclée process at Cloutier Fotographic — ensuring rich color, depth, and longevity. The print is personally signed and numbered as part of a limited edition of 50.

This is more than a print; it’s a lasting visual memory of a place rooted in care and story.

This work began as a photograph of my garden at MyBackyardHomestead — a real place, tended season after season.

From there, it became an exploration of memory and landscape.

Hundreds of color layers were individually blended over the original image using varying light modes and tonal adjustments. Organic line work and botanical textures were woven throughout the composition. An oil-texture finish was then applied to exaggerate movement and brushstroke rhythm, transforming the piece into a layered interpretation of the land.

This is not AI-generated imagery.
It is a constructed visual meditation on place, with intentional design and color.

About the Artist

I’m a Colorado-based artist and lifelong digital creator who has spent over a decade building and tending MyBackyardHomestead at 8,600 feet.

This piece reflects how I experience the land — layered, textured, and evolving. I work from original photography and build each artwork through hundreds of blended layers and organic textures, creating a visual interpretation of memory and place.

This is the first limited fine art release from the homestead.
